What to Wear

WARDROBE GUIDE

While there is absolutely no right or wrong way to dress your child, we do see some outfit choices work better than others. Picture day is something new for a lot of the students and they react in different ways. Some children love being in front of a camera and some are shyer. Here are our go-to tips:

#1 the FIT is everything!!

Loose clothing reads as sloppy on the camera. Make sure you pick an outfit that suits their current size.

#2 SOLIDS are key

When you choose a complementary solid color, it brings the focus to your child’s expressions.

#3 choose a SIMPLE pattern

If you want to add a fun element to your image opt for a simple pattern such as polka dots or stripes. These tend to not be distracting.

#4 fancy clothing can be overwhelming…especially RUFFLES

Fancy dress clothing often makes your child uncomfortable and we do not get as good of expressions. We also suggest if you have to have a ruffle go for a more simple one like these!

#5 OVERALLS

These photograph so well! They give such a playful and light element to your image. You really cannot go wrong with a good pair of overalls.

#6 go for something COMFORTABLE

Ultimately your child will get the best photos when they are feeling comfortable. Choose something they love and is not irritating to wear.
